(These are the actual instructions for the Apple Lemonade recipe from the cookbook itself, but I’ll add more things I learned at the end.)
Wash apples and dice, using everything including skin and core. Cook with enough water to cover, strain through a cloth and add one cup sugar for each cup of juice thus obtained. Dissolve sugar in the juice and cool. Fill glasses half full of this apple sirup, add to each glass the juice of halfa lemon and fill up with ice and water.
*So I used about 4 apples which created so much! Silly, I know. I maybe only used 2 apples when boiling it. The other two chopped up apples, Olive and I just sat and ate. From those 2 apples I boiled, I got about 2 cups of syrup. (Ideally, I would have let it simmer for 10-15 min more to reduce the syrup down). It was so sweet, so delicious, so worth it! <3
