To say I had a blast filming with Lauren of @CopperTop.Ink would be a total understatement! I have had this dream of filming Retro Recipes with other gals for the longest of times (like 2 whole years) and when she agreed to be my first stop on this Retro Recipe journey I couldn’t help but squeal!
I’ve been a fan of hers for quite some time. Lauren creates these works of art which are incredibly well done, but a fun little fact is that she uses actual makeup to create the blush and eye shadow!
Oh yeah! Almost forgot! She also surprised me with my own portrait! I was floored.
(I look like Mary freakin’ Poppins, you guys!)
If you’re interested in her work and would like your own incredible piece of art check out her instagram page: www.instagram.com/CopperTop.Ink
Lauren also has pins!
You can DM her on Instagram if you’d like to order one of these beauties!
ON TO THE RECIPES!
Here are the recipe cards with the recipes from her grandmother!
So I had never tried Wassil before this, but I instantly loved it. I actually don’t drink much as it makes me feel quite uneasy, but the rum I did add in to the wassil added a nice kick but it wasn’t necessary for it to taste scrumptious!
The carrot salad reminded me greatly of the “Pumpkin Carrot Salad” I made for Halloween, however Lauren’s was by far more superior!

I preferred Lauren’s version because it had less carrots and mandarin oranges! So it was a win win win!
