A Buttery Morning at Pufftown Bakehouse in Seattle, WA

Let me paint a picture for you! Nestled in the heart of Seattle’s iconic Pike Place Market is a little corner of pastry heaven called Pufftown Bakehouse. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was love at first bite.
I went in for their Butter Croissant, which has gained a bit of a reputation and now I understand why. It’s everything a croissant should be: buttery, golden, light as air, and with that perfect crisp when you break into it. The kind of pastry that makes you pause mid-bite just to appreciate how good it is.
But I couldn’t stop there.
Next up was the Butter Knot with Jam—made from the same flaky, buttery laminated dough as the classic butter croissant, but shaped into a pull-apart twist that’s perfect for dipping. It came with a tart, fruity jam that balanced the richness of the pastry beautifully. Soft, crisp, sweet, and tangy - comforting, a little playful, and completely delightful.

And then... the Chocolate Focaccia. Soft, lightly sweet, and sprinkled with chocolate goodness. I didn’t even know chocolate focaccia was a thing! Now while I couldn't enjoy it my best friend who was with me, Cher, definitely could and she described it as a soft, rich surprise!
There were so many other pastries calling my name, but by the time at 11:15am, the shelves were already thinning out. Lesson learned: Pufftown Bakehouse sells out fast. If you're planning to visit (and you absolutely should), I recommend getting there early to have your pick of their fresh-baked goods.

The owners of Pufftown Bakehouse were absolutely lovely and they feel like one of those places that cares deeply about what they’re making.
Everything I tried was crafted with love, and the flavors spoke for themselves.
If you find yourself at Pike Place Market, follow the smell of butter and flaky pastry—it just might lead you to your new favorite bakery.
